A manufacturer's new product is not in the item master yet — and a quote is needed for it anyway. That is exactly what this app is for: it lets you build a quote without first registering the items and operations that do not exist in the system yet.

What it is for
Quoting and master data maintenance move at different speeds. By the time a new product needs a quote, the item numbers, the bill of materials and the routing are typically not set up yet — and entering them "just for the quote" is risky, because from that point on they stay in the system.
The app separates the two. It manages the bill of materials and the routing belonging to the quote separately, including materials that are not in the item master. If you work with an existing item or operation, the data is imported from the system; if not, you can enter the costs by hand.

A unique identifier per job
The app generates an identifier for every custom job, so the quote can be looked up later.

Attachments
Drawings, specifications and anything else belonging to the quote can be uploaded to the document.

E-mail notifications
Everyone involved is notified automatically when the state of the quote changes.

Date tracking
The arrival date of the raw materials and the confirmation date can both be recorded.
